Katherine Thorne I re-joined Steele Raymond LLP on the 8th September 2008 as a Trainee Solicitor having initially worked for the firm as a ‘placement student’ during my LLB Business Law degree. After my undergraduate degree I then completed my Legal Practice Course at Bournemouth University.
My first seat was in the Private Client department where I worked when I was a ‘placement student’ so it was a great opportunity to build on my previous experience. During my time in this department I was involved in the administration of a number of estates, as well as drafting Wills, involvement in tax planning schemes and trusts.
I completed my second seat in commercial property where I gained experience in drafting and negotiating leases for a number of clients. I am currently in Litigation where most of my work comprises of family cases, although I have also gained some experience in contract cases as well. This is my last seat before completing my training contract and I am enjoying gaining experience in another area of law.
I live in Southampton and have a number of interests including swimming and badminton and when I have some spare time I enjoy painting.
