Subject: Holidays and unpaid and statutory leave
Do we have to pay for time off on bank holidays, as well as four weeks' annual leave?
How do we calculate average weekly pay for holiday pay purposes? Do we have to include overtime?
Do we have to give paid holiday time to casual workers, for example temps? What if they are only with us for a week or ten days?
An employee has recently returned to work after four months' sick leave. Now she says she is entitled to her full four weeks' paid holiday for the year. Is she?
Someone is leaving, five months into the year, after taking holiday entitlement for the full year. Can we claim the money back?
Do we have to allow people to take forward unused holiday?
What should we do if someone consistently refuses to take his full holiday entitlement?
Do we have to accommodate a worker who wants to take three months' unpaid leave?
We have a trade fair starting two days after a bank holiday. Can we require people to work on the bank holiday?
We asked two people to come in over a bank holiday, offering time off in lieu. They say they should get double time. What can they do about it?
We have a new recruit who has been with us for less than three months, and he says he is already entitled to take a week off. Is this true?
We have workers who want to take time off during the school holidays in the summer, our busiest time. Do we have to agree?
An employee has asked to take two weeks off, at two days' notice, because she has got cheap tickets. Do we have to agree?
