Solicitor – Property Litigation Team

The Opportunity

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and talented Solicitor to join our Property Litigation Team.

Our Property Litigation Team is one of four teams, alongside our Commercial Property, Residential Development and Residential Conveyancing Teams, which sit within our highly regarded 40-strong Property Group. The Property Litigation Team was created in its stand-alone form just under two years ago and is already going from strength to strength. We are extremely proud of the growth and development of the team.

Our Property Group is genuinely full service and this means the Property Litigation Team can take any query from across the property sector and either litigate on it, or provide advice alongside transactional colleagues to resolve the matter for the client. The Team act for a wide range of clients including, but not limited to, large national housebuilders, significant commercial tenants with national portfolios and high net worth individuals across the region.

The Team provide advice on:

  • Recovery of Rent Arrears
  • Recovery of Possession of Residential and Commercial Property
  • Managing County Court and High Court litigation
  • Obtaining Injunctions
  • Obtaining a range of Court Orders
  • Resolving matters at mediation and through other forms of ADR
  • Serving notices renewing commercial leases
  • Breaking commercial leases and advising on strategy for obtaining vacant possession
  • Serving notices ending contracts and other forms of tenancy
  • Managing litigation risk in ongoing property transactions
  • Real Property issues (strategic advice on covenants, easements etc.)
  • Managing Dilapidations Disputes
  • Managing Rights of Light Disputes
  • Supporting developers when purchasing sites
  • Collective Enfranchisement
  • Lease Extensions

The close-knit Team is led by David Crockford and comprises one further partner, Hannah Dare, two solicitors, a paralegal and a Legal Secretary. We are seeking to add to the Team by recruiting a further Legal Secretary and a newly qualified solicitor.

You may be coming up to qualification in September, or have recently qualified. We don’t need you to have property litigation experience, however we would expect you to have some property experience, perhaps from a Commercial property training seat or within a prior paralegal role.

In addition to this experience, you will be committed to delivering quality legal services proactively and with the highest quality of client care. You will also have excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, clients or other external professionals.
