It’s an exciting, but often daunting, stage of your life when you choose the law firm where you’ll start your career as a solicitor.
Whether you’re an undergraduate, postgraduate or experienced professional undertaking a career change, placing your trust in us is a big decision and not to be made lightly.
At Steele Raymond, what sets us apart is our people.
Practicing law is tough but rewarding. Doing it in an open, supportive and friendly environment with people who you respect and enjoy working with makes all the difference.
That’s why previous trainees have said that they were ‘impressed by the friendliness in the office’ and that ‘the people’ are the best thing about our firm.
“I am often asked what makes an application for a training contract stand out. For me, the applicants who demonstrate exceptional personal achievement and have a good awareness of the firm are more likely to succeed.”
– Jennifer Rogerson, Training Principal & Partner
“The past year working for Steele Raymond has been fantastic. The firm as a whole, and not just the team that I am in, are consistently approachable and willing to help you no matter what level you are at.”
– Roison Fisher, Trainee Solicitor
“The best part of the training contract is the responsibility and trust that is given to you. I have helped with large transactions and I like how everyone at the firm will take their time to explain every aspect of a deal, so you know exactly what is going on and how the work you are doing fits into the transaction.”
– Zaeem Mughal, Trainee Solicitor
Steele Raymond Solicitor Training Contract
To apply for a training contract please download an application form and then return it by email with a covering letter to Lindsay Halliwell.
The deadline for submissions for 2022-24 training contracts is 30th June 2020.
Once we have reviewed all the applications, a short-list of candidates will be invited to submit a video answering some pre-set questions. We will then draw up a short-list of candidates to take part in an assessment day at our offices in Bournemouth. This will involve individual and group exercises and there will an opportunity to talk to our current trainees.
Following the assessment day, we will invite some of the candidates back for a formal interview.
If you have any questions in relation to the training contract application process, please contact Lindsay Halliwell.
