Steele Raymond advises Unicorn Training Group on acquisition of a leading legal training company

Leading Dorset commercial solicitors Steele Raymond LLP has advised Unicorn Training Group on its acquisition of a leading legal training company.
Unicorn Training Group, whose head office is in Bournemouth continued its ambitious growth strategy with the acquisition of London-based legal training specialists Socrates Training Limited.
Socrates Training Limited, which was first established in 2003, specialises in supporting around 1000 business with specialist governance, risk and compliance training. Socrates will now use Unicorn’s award-winning learning management system Unicorn LMS to further develop its offering to clients.
An experienced legal team from leading Bournemouth commercial solicitors Steele Raymond LLP advised Unicorn Training Group, a longstanding client of the firm, with comprehensive support and advice on the acquisition of Socrates Training Limited. The transaction was led by Partner and company and commercial solicitor Craig Hardman, and Shaun Guppy from the firm’s top-tier Corporate and Commercial team who have extensive experience in acting for technology clients, as well as across a wide range of other sectors. The team worked closely with Chris Appleton and Rebecca Combes at Smith & Williamson who advised Unicorn Training Group on tactical accounting and tax aspects of the transaction.
