Steele Raymond launches new specialist mediation offering

27/10/2014

Leading Dorset commercial law firm Steele Raymond LLP is pleased to announce the launch of a new specialist mediation service, giving a further boost to its growing family offering.

The mediation service will be led by newly appointed associate, Lindsay Halliwell – a qualified specialist family mediator – alongside partner Peter Rolph. Lindsay and the team have a wealth of training and experience in helping clients make their own decisions, whether in relation to finance or children arrangements, following relationship breakdown.

Mediators are voluntarily appointed by clients to help identify and resolve a number of issues and retain control as to how their dispute is resolved, as opposed to a Judge who will not know all the relevant family background. The mediator, who is neutral, does not advise but rather suggests relevant options taking into account what a court may order. Mediation can be undertaken prior to commencing court proceedings or in the course of those proceedings. All of the discussions that take place within mediation are private and confidential and cannot be disclosed within any court hearing or process.

In addition to the Steele Raymond’s family mediation offering, partner Peter Rolph is also a qualified mediator in the field of commercial dispute resolution, providing a top quality service to business clients and recognised by the Legal 500 as having ‘amazing knowledge’ in his field of expertise.

Chairman Tim Stone commented:

“I am delighted to be able to introduce this new service for Steele Raymond, which illustrates the recent growth and success of our family and private client teams, perfectly complementing our recognised top tier commercial expertise. At Steele Raymond we pride ourselves on delivering a highly valued, personal service to both businesses and individuals, and the addition of this service underlines our commitment to making a real difference to clients.”
