Double Olympic Medallist Hannah Mills MBE backed for Tokyo 2020 by law firm Steele Raymond LLP

01/08/2019

Dorset solicitors Steele Raymond have announced the sponsorship of double Olympic medallist and Team GB Sailor Hannah Mills MBE ahead of her campaign towards the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.

The Bournemouth based law firm has been providing professional support to Hannah on her Olympic bid to become the most successful Olympic female sailor of all time.

Cardiff-born Hannah, who is now based in Poole, is no stranger to Olympic success having won silver at London 2012. Hannah then went on to become Olympic champion and win gold four years later at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games alongside Saskia Clark. Hannah will be competing alongside her new partner Eilidh McIntyre with the duo bidding to add a gold to their medal haul in the 470 class at the 2020 Summer Olympic Games, held in Tokyo in July next year.

Hannah said:

“I met the guys at Steele Raymond just after Rio 2016 and we wondered if there was some sort of collaboration and partnership that we could put together to support our campaign towards Tokyo 2020.”

“Steele Raymond has been a fantastic support network for Eilidh and I in our campaign towards Tokyo. They take so much of the pressure off in terms of the legal side of things, dealing with sponsorship contracts, putting things in place for us that just allows us to get on the water and do our job without worrying about things that could ultimately pull the campaign apart but if they are dealt with properly then they are no problem at all. It’s been a fantastic partnership for us, and we can’t wait to carry on working with them.”

Steele Raymond Chairman Tim Stone said:

“It’s our absolute pleasure to be supporting Hannah in her Olympic journey towards Tokyo 2020. To think that Hannah is on course to become the most successful female Olympic sailor of all time is really quite incredible. Sadly we can’t all be Olympic athletes, but we can in our business here at Steele Raymond draw on and be inspired by the example Hannah sets in terms of her passion to always do her best through teamwork, commitment and absolute dedication to the task in hand.”

“We are a nation of sports lovers; when our sporting heroes win, they really do lift the spirits of the nation. We look forward to supporting Hannah and seeing her on the winning podium next year.”
