Bournemouth commercial solicitors Steele Raymond LLP have advised the selling owners on the sale of the Lakeview Manor property and business near Honiton in Devon.
Lakeview Manor, in the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near Honiton, is a privately-owned old-style country manor house hotel set in 45 acres of pristine gardens and beautiful parkland with two ornamental ponds, and two fully stocked fishing lakes. It currently comprises 18 developed holiday lodge pitches, and a 17-bedroom hotel and events venue.
The hotel and lodge development have been acquired by private equity-backed holiday operator Lakeshore Leisure Group Ltd in a deal brokered by Colliers International.
Martin Hyde, who owned and ran Lakeview Manor for the last 12 years, said: “We are incredibly pleased with the sale of Lakeview Manor to Lakeshore Leisure Group and wish them all the best with the business going forward.”
The sale of Lakeview Manor was led by Steele Raymond Partners Chris Twaits (commercial property) and Nick Davies (company and commercial). The Steele Raymond team provided commercial, planning, employment and property advice on the sale transaction.
Chris Twaits, Partner and Head of Commercial Property at Steele Raymond LLP said: “I have been involved with the Lakeview Manor business from its original purchase by Martin right through to the sale to Lakeshore Leisure Group, so this has personally been a particularly satisfying transaction.”
Chris said: “We have considerable experience acting for parties in the hotel and holiday park sectors. Our experience of dealing with other similar businesses, and our particular history with Lakeview Manor, was crucial in ensuring that the transaction proceeded at speed to meet the parties’ short agreed timescale.”
Martin continued: “The advice and assistance we have received from Chris, Nick and the team at Steele Raymond over many years has always been clear, concise and delivered in a commercial, efficient manner.”
