Leading South Coast law firm Steele Raymond has advised Lemur Attractions Group on the significant expansion and redevelopment of their Devon-based outdoor waterpark, Splashdown Quaywest.
Located on Goodrington Sands Beach near to Paignton in Devon, Splashdown Quaywest is already the UK’s largest all-outdoor waterpark, which has been operated by Lemur Attractions since 2009.
Steele Raymond acted for Splashdown Quaywest taking a new long-term lease of the site from Torbay Council to allow comprehensive expansion and redevelopment of the park’s facilities.
Splashdown Quaywest have now submitted an application for planning permission to build new facilities and redevelop the site to further boost the popular waterpark’s success.
The planning application, currently being considered by Torbay Council, includes four new waterslides including a giant 166m two-person raft slide; large interactive wet playground which will offer improved facilities for young families and an indoor climbing centre. The new plan, which will encompass additional land on either side of the existing site, will also allow for a new beach cafe and wet weather attractions.
Head of Steele Raymond’s Commercial Property Team, Chris Twaits, advised Splashdown Quaywest on the property aspects of the transaction.
