Steele Raymond has once again been recognised as one of the South West’s leading law firms by the industry legal guide, the Legal 500. This latest milestone in the rankings is the 20th consecutive year that the Bournemouth-based firm has received the top tier accolade.
Commenting on the latest rankings, Jennifer Rogerson, Managing Partner, said: “This is fantastic news for the firm, and testament to the hard work and dedication of the whole Steele Raymond team.
“Achieving a top tier ranking for any firm is impressive, but to have maintained that level of first-class expertise and relentless client focus for the last two decades demonstrates a highly commendable dedication to consistency, client commitment and superb client service.
“I am incredibly proud of the team and all their achievements.”
Steele Raymond is ranked in eight practice areas in this year’s Legal 500 guide, with the firm’s Commercial Property, Residential Development and Commercial Litigation teams once again maintaining their prestigious top tier rankings.
Four of the firm’s highly-regarded and specialist teams; Corporate & Commercial, Employment, Family and Property Litigation maintained their previous year’s ranking, with Contentious Trusts & Probate and Personal Tax, Trusts and Probate increasing their positions in this year’s results.
In addition to the team rankings, 10 individual lawyers are recognised specifically for their work across the Dorset, Devon and Cornwall and wider South West regions.
Of those, five lawyers are recognised by the 2025 edition of Legal 500 as ‘Leading Partners’, including the firm’s Chairman, Partner and Head of Corporate team, Tim Stone, Partner and Head of Commercial team, Paula Eckton, Partner and Head of Residential Development team, Emma Stainwright, Partner and Head of Commercial Property team, Chris Twaits and Partner in the Dispute Resolution team, Peter Rolph.
The coveted ‘Next Generation Partner’ status was awarded to four Partners; Amelia Williams, head of the firm’s top tier Dispute Resolution team, Lindsay Halliwell in the Family team, Shaun Guppy in the Corporate team and David Crockford who leads the firm’s five-strong Property Litigation team.
Meanwhile, Rosanna Parker, Senior Associate in the Commercial Property team received a notable mention as a ‘Leading Associate’ in the guide.
Jennifer concluded: “I am thrilled that my five colleagues, Emma Stainwright, Paula Eckton, Tim Stone, Chris Twaits and Peter Rolph have retained their well-deserved Leading Partner rankings and I am delighted that Amelia, Lindsay, David and Shaun have been recognised as Next Generation Partners, cementing their exceptional contributions to the firm.
“I am so pleased for all our partners and for Rosanna for her recognition as ‘Leading Associate.”
This latest announcement of Legal 500 rankings comes hot on the heels of the firm also being named last week as a Legal 500 Future Lawyers winner for 2024/25 in seven categories, including securing top spot in the UK for work/life balance.
Steele Raymond is recruiting now for September 2026 and September 2027 intakes of its Training Programme, alongside its 2025 LLB Undergraduate Placement Scheme.
