Top-Tier South Coast law firm Steele Raymond LLP is delighted to have appointed a specialist dispute resolution solicitor to its growing team.
Robert Salame joins Steele Raymond as an Associate from a Berkshire-based firm where he led the dispute resolution team and brings a wealth of experience in commercial, employment and general dispute matters.
As an ADR accredited civil and commercial mediator, Robert offers alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services to businesses, business owners and individuals, holding the firm belief that mediation can be a cost-effective and people-focused route to dispute resolution. His appointment coincides with a Call for Evidence from the Ministry of Justice on how to settle disputes away from court with a view to placing ‘technology and dispute resolution ‘at the heart of the future system’’.
Robert is familiar with the firm and with the Bournemouth coastline, having studied law at Bournemouth University and subsequently completing his 18-month training contract with Steele Raymond in 2015 and going on to work in the Dispute Resolution Team for a further two years.
Speaking on his return, Robert said:
“I’m really happy to be back.”
“I can see a lot of good change, both in terms of personnel and the firm’s stature over the past five years, so it is really good to be part of that and to be welcomed back into the Steele Raymond family. One thing that hasn’t changed is the firm’s focus on its ‘people’ – this is what really sets Steele Raymond apart.”
Asked about his aspirations on returning to the firm, Robert commented:
“I’d like to help the dispute resolution team and the firm to grow further and to help continue the great work which is clearly already being done.”
“From a personal perspective, I am excited to develop my career in an environment that I know well and within such a highly-regarded dispute team.”
Steele Raymond’s Dispute Resolution Team, led by the firm’s Managing Partner Peter Rolph, was awarded Top-Tier status in the 2021 edition of highly respected independent industry bible The Legal 500 – the 16th consecutive year the team has received this accolade alongside those in the firm’s other core practice areas of Corporate and Commercial and Commercial Property. Peter Rolph himself was recognised as a ‘Leading Individual’ and was singled out as being ‘an excellent litigator who takes a practical approach’.
Speaking on Robert’s appointment, Peter said:
“We are really pleased to have Robert back at Steele Raymond. Robert started with us as a placement student before becoming an excellent trainee and his experience with us and then at another firm over the past six years make him a great addition to this growing part of our business.”
