Paula Eckton

Paula leads our Commercial team. While she has significant experience in acquisitions and disposals, her focus is on long‑term client relationships and the commercial agreements that underpin day‑to‑day operations. She advises on all contractual matters, including supply and distribution, procurement and outsourcing, joint ventures and franchising, with an emphasis on contracts that balance risk and help the business deliver.

Clients value a style that feels steady, responsive and aligned to their commercial objectives. Many of Paula’s clients have worked with her for years. She is often an extension of the management team – a trusted adviser at pivotal moments, on decisions that matter. They describe patient, friendly communication, practical reassurance and an appreciation that agreements need to conclude efficiently while reflecting the complexities of what both parties are trying to achieve. That combination of commercial understanding and legal precision is a consistent theme in her work.

Examples of Paula’s work include supporting contract negotiation for a nationally significant £1.5 billion housing development. The work involved a highly conditional main contract, around 125 sub‑documents and a demanding timetable, with advice on variations, risk allocation and commercial terms to keep momentum through to exchange.

She’s also advised on a high‑growth fibre infrastructure provider as it scaled national agreements; acted for one of the UK’s largest coffee shop operators in relation to their franchising arrangements; and acted for a formulations company in the field of crop protection and life sciences as they distributed their patented technology to industrial partners around the world.

Testimonials reinforce Paula’s proactive and coordinated approach, which sustains momentum across complex business relationships and agreements.
