What happens at the successful conclusion of mediation?

The family mediation process is designed to produce a positive and comprehensive outcome, but what happens once mediation reaches that outcome?

The focus in family mediation is to reach decisions.

Once all decisions have been made or agreed upon, the mediator will prepare a document called the Memorandum of Understanding, or a Summary of Decisions, both of which will set out what outcomes have been reached and the reasoning behind those outcomes.

Once both parties have these documents, they are used to support the preparation of Court Orders, separation agreements or parenting plans for example.

In this short video Family solicitor and mediator, Lindsay Halliwell explains what will happen after the successful conclusion of mediation and what to expect from your mediator.
