David is a partner and head of the firm's Property Litigation team.
David has a proven track record of managing disputes commercially to help his clients arrive at the right solution for the issues they are facing, and of maximising their prospects of success. He is supported by a team with extensive experience in advising and resolving a full range of property-related disputes.
His own particular expertise is in advising landlords and occupiers, investors and individuals in relation to commercial landlord/tenant disputes (including dilapidations, contested rent reviews and business tenancy renewals), as well as housebuilders, social housing providers and high net worth individuals on disputes arising from the development of land (including rights of light, overage disputes and real property issues).
David’s focus on finding the “sensible” solution to problems has led to him having both considerable experience across the court structure, particularly in obtaining interim injunctions (both at County Court and High Court level) and of resolving issues at the right time using expert determination, arbitration and, of course, mediation.

Obtaining interim and final injunctive relief for a range of clients in order to quickly secure litigation aims.

Obtaining interim injunctions in both the High Court and the County Court for developers, commercial landlords/tenants and private individuals.
Assisting national and regional landlords/tenants to manage any litigation arising across their portfolios.
Supporting a national housebuilder navigate significant litigation issues, including rights of light and real property issues, to unlock the development of a site of 600+ units.
Acting for a national landlord in major lease renewal/ dilapidations proceedings in the High Court, with the matter settling at mediation shortly before trial.
Acting for a regional housebuilder to unlock a development site by resolving a series of land registration and real property disputes.
