One of the South Coast’s leading commercial law firms, Steele Raymond LLP, are extremely pleased to have acted for Robert Braithwaite CBE DL, the founder and driving force behind the landmark Poole luxury boat maker Sunseeker, in relation to the sale of certain of Robert’s shares in Sunseeker to the Chinese conglomerate, the Dalian Wanda Group (‘DWG’).
Following completion of the sale Robert will continue to hold a shareholding in Sunseeker and will also continue as Group President. DWG were represented by city firm, Freshfields and Sunseeker were represented by city firm, White & Case. Robert founded Sunseeker in 1968 and is a long-standing client of Steele Raymond LLP.
The team at Steele Raymond LLP was led by Nick Davies, a partner in the Company & Commercial team, who said: “It was a great privilege to act for Robert Braithwaite in such a significant and high profile transaction. Robert and Sunseeker are excellent local examples of a successful business person building a small start up business into a truly global brand employing thousands of people.
The transaction was highly technical and complex at times but we were able to provide a team of specialist lawyers to advise on all the relevant legal requirements. We wish the new owners of Sunseeker all the best for the future and very much look forward to continuing our excellent working relationship with Robert”
