Steele Raymond LLP announces two key promotions

Associate solicitors Shaun Guppy and Johanna Hammersley have both been promoted to Senior Associate as part of the Bournemouth law firm’s dedicated drive to promote exceptional talent.

Commercial solicitor Shaun Guppy joined the firm in 2011 as a placement student from Bournemouth University, then went on to join the firm’s leading trainee recruitment programme in 2014 and qualified into the firm’s top tier Company and Commercial team in 2016. Shaun was promoted to Associate in 2019 and has quickly made the next step to Senior Associate. Shaun specialises in corporate transactions, demergers and commercial contracts and works with a range of businesses from start-up businesses to large corporates.

Speaking about his promotion Shaun said:

“It means a lot to me to be promoted to Senior Associate within the Company and Commercial Team at Steele Raymond.  I have always received excellent training, support and guidance throughout my six years at Steele Raymond, not just from the Partners and colleagues within my team but from the firm as a whole, and I am excited to start this next chapter and help to continue to provide the excellent service that the firm delivers to our clients.”

Johanna Hammersley, an experienced pension property investment solicitor joined the firm in 2018 and works in the firm’s specialist SIPP and SSAS Pension Property Investment Team. Johanna specialises in acting for pension trustees in the acquisition, disposal and leasing of commercial properties by Self-Invested Personal Pension (SIPP) schemes and Small Self-Administered Schemes (SSAS).

Johanna also has considerable expertise in more general commercial property work, acting for investors and occupiers in connection with all aspects of commercial property ownership and occupation.
