Steele Raymond welcomes newly qualified solicitor to its Wills, Trusts and Probate team in Bournemouth

22/11/2022

Leading South Coast law firm Steele Raymond appoints newly qualified solicitor Emily Bartlett to its Wills, Trusts and Probate Team in Bournemouth.

Emily, who studied law at Bournemouth University and obtained her LPC from The University of Law in Guildford, gained invaluable experience at the firm in 2018, when she worked as a legal secretary and a legal assistant in the corporate and commercial property teams respectively. Emily also undertook a placement year at British fashion retailer New Look, where she assisted in their in-house legal team.

Emily embarked upon her two-year training contract with Steele Raymond in 2020, gaining experience within the firm’s Family, Residential Property and Wills, Trusts, and Probate Teams.

Speaking on her experiences as a trainee solicitor, Emily said:

“The trainee programme at Steele Raymond was great for me and I felt the firm really listened when I was asked about my preferred areas of law. The firm’s training principal, Lindsay Halliwell, did her best to tailor my time as a trainee to suit my interests and career aspirations, which resulted in the opportunity to complete two seats within Wills, Trusts and Probate.”

Having now qualified into her desired area of specialism, Emily commented on life as qualified solicitor and her love for private client law, saying:

“It’s really great to be in my preferred team and to be moving forward with my career. The level of client interaction required in private client law is something that really interests me; to be able to provide a comforting hand during what is often an emotive time is both a privilege and an important responsibility.

“Steele Raymond’s Wills, Trusts and Probate Team has recently welcomed Joe Spring as the new head, so I’m excited to play my part in helping her and others around me to develop and grow our services.”

Joe Spring, Partner and Head of Wills, Trusts, and Probate at Steele Raymond, commented on Emily’s qualification, saying:

“Emily is a bright, enthusiastic, and compassionate solicitor and has all of the skillsets required to excel in what can be a very emotive area of law. Since my arrival at Steele Raymond, Emily has stood out as a key team member and is testament to the calibre of young lawyers coming through the firm’s trainee programme.”

Emily is the fourth Steele Raymond trainee from the 2019 and 2020 intakes to qualify into the firm, with Zaeem Mughal (Corporate), Amy Baugh (Family) and Jessica Wade (Commercial) all developing their careers on the South Coast.
